I'm new to stickers

Postby onecrazydiamond » June 27th, 2008, 11:37 am

Hi all, great forum you've got here.
I hope it's ok if I ask you guys what do you think about my start at street art stickers?
My home town has little or no street art stickers artists, so I wish to introduce it.

here are my first two stickers, so please tell me what do you think of them, is it worth to continue creating them, or shoul I go and start labeling my town?

Welcome to Ekosystem! I'm impressed by your stickers, and I believe what you have is talent :D . By the way, what marker are you using? I like the deep black lines of both stickers. Please Post more pics of other stickers. If you are looking for recognition locally, I recomend creating a design that is easily recognizable and create MANY of those stickers. Keep me updated with your progress!

P.S. I have many Sticker Books that I have bought and if you are looking for a great book for ideas i definitely recomend you purchase "Sticker City" by Claudia Walde

Thanks for the support IbR!!! I appreciate it a lot!
The process of me making my stickers is like this:
1. Sketch something out of my head on paper
2. Trace the pen with a permanent marker
3. Scan the sketch
4. Use illustrator to either trace the marker or the pen tool if I want lines to be straight and smooth
5. Print it on label paper (I do it at work so I have no expenses :)

You can see the difference between the lines on "Oil" sticker which are traced and "Hanged" that I traced with a pen tool.

Thanks again for a nice comment and book proposal, I'll keep you posted!

No problem and welcome to Ekosystem. I think you'll like it here, people here are a lot nicer than the guys at Stencil Revolution.

Hi
i only do
hand made stickers
all original
they live three years
on (fuckin')cars
urban structures
inside house and people
under acid rain
and violent south east radiations ( sun)

i prefer hand made stickers
because each sticker is a gift to the street
walls are just another art medium
free medium u can exploite
u can steel it
collect it
i enjoy it
it's up to You to give a sense to ur stuff
it's a dangerous game
a sort of desease
a color desease
like points of colors
in absurde urban architectures (cubes)
a chromatic art trouble
they are laughing
of human stupidity
pollution
etc

are u american?
i saw ur stickers on Deviant ART
it's a very good site for artists

make art not war!

why i should remember
did we work together?
sorry i had a aerostat accident
i lost memory last months
u should have a lot of think to say
about war
massacres
etc
it must be interesting to have ur opinion
about recent history of ur country...
perhaps you don't care...
France action (military blue schtrouph army--ONU)
was not so glorious

well sometimes i am a fuckin' french
sometimes i don't know who i am...
