Something like 30 months after the release of Art Of Rebellion book which was the 1st so-called street-art book. C100 is striking back with Art Of Rebellion 2. This time there is a new book company : Publikat which is known for printing Stylefile magazine and books like Hamburg City Graffiti or Stylefile.Blackbook.Sessions.

The format is also different, it's much bigger than the 1st one (24x28 cm on this one). On the previous book, some criticized the size and the quality of the pictures (too small). This time, images are big and beautiful. The book design is classic but very classy.

This is more or less the same "concept" than on the previous book. To sum up it's a catalogue of last 18 month most interesting street-artists. Of course there are short texts to describe the artists, or a particular action. There are also some introducing texts from C100, but this is definitively a picture book.

I think this time C100 really selected people featured in the book. Last time we had a bit the feeling that everybody who sent him pictures had his page. This time most of the people in AOR2 deserve to be in it. There are not too much meaningless pictograms and boring characters. But just like in AOR1 where is the index to quickly find a page ?!!!

There are many well-known people in this book (Akay, Miss Van, Faile, El Tono, Blek le Rat, Faile, l'Atlas...) but most of them show us recent and not too-seen work; there are also many interesting and less known people and projects.

Image

As a conclusion this is a very beautiful book thanks to all those large images. People who check ekosystem or wooster daily can say there is nothing very new, again a "street-art book" with tons of pictures. That's right, that's not the History book with lotsa texts that some are waiting, but once again this is one of the finest.

i kinda new i was going to have to find a copy, and what a tops lineup. props to c100 for choosing a crew who fight above they're collective weight. Like you say pitty about the texts, but happy noises about getting a look into projects that are often quietly localised. they said from a box in the cellar.

Skills? Evilhamster sincerely, buy a brain. I don't need absolutely nothing to say what I think and feel.

I tell it humbly, please, think before acting. Don't talk about shadows if you don't control darkness.

Where is depth today?

I hope the fact that you got an honorary mention in the review makes up for me not having heard of your work before.
